Axión’s I Equality Plan

In a clear commitment to corporate social responsibility and full equality, Axión launches its first equal opportunity plan for men and women.

Axión’s I Equality Plan has been agreed between the Company and the Workers’ Representatives, constituted as an Equality Commission, and is already registered with the Labor Authority. It includes 20 measures affecting areas such as awareness, selection, training, promotion, health and work-life balance.

Women’s equality and Agenda 2030

Aware that the technology sector still has structural barriers to the full inclusion of women in all areas, and in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (which includes as goal number 5 “Ending all forms of discrimination against all women and girls worldwide”), Axión’s Equality Plan has been launched by the Equality Committee.

Despite the progress made in recent decades, women and girls around the world have yet to experience real equality of rights. Businesses have a key role to play in this regard, adopting internal policies and procedures to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women in the workplace and investing externally in programs to empower women and girls, thereby promoting economic growth and social development.

In fact, one of the main measures recommended by the Global Pact for the SDGs at the internal corporate level is to have an Equality Plan, with commitments, measures and specific objectives, ensuring that all company policies include the gender dimension and that the corporate culture promotes equality and integration.

With the signing of the I Equality Plan, Axión ratifies its commitment to continue with the development of policies and measures that integrate equal treatment and opportunities between women and men, without direct or indirect discrimination based on gender, recognizing equal opportunities between women and men as a strategic principle of our Personnel Policy.

The main objectives of the Plan are as follows:

• On the basis of the diagnostic, identifying the necessary areas of action to ensure compliance with the principle of equality and implementing the necessary measures, monitoring them and adopting corrective measures where necessary.
• Ensuring the principle of equal treatment and opportunities between women and men, guaranteeing the same opportunities for entry and professional development at all levels of the workforce.
• Integrating a gender perspective in all areas of the company.
• Promoting training and awareness-raising activities for equal opportunities between women and men.
• Taking into account that one of the main characteristics of our organization is the reduced presence of women, the main objective of the Equality Plan will be to support the incorporation of women in our organization.
• Motivating women to participate in the selection process for traditionally male positions or those where women are underrepresented.
• Encouraging a balanced representation of women and men in the different professional subgroups for promotion.
• Taking a gender perspective into account in occupational risk assessment.
• Preventing employment discrimination based on gender.
• Reinforcing the social responsibility of the company in order to improve the quality of life of the people who are part of it as well as promoting the principle of equal opportunities.
