Axión takes part in first regional broadcast of live event with 4K ultra-high definition technology

Axión recently took part in a unique audiovisual partnership in Andalusia with several industry players to guarantee maximum quality in the 4K broadcast of the Horse-Drawn Carriage Exhibition in Ronda.

Its live television broadcast on 2 September took place simultaneously in two formats: in 4K for the provinces of Málaga and Seville on the pilot Canal Sur 4K channel and via high-definition DTTV for the entire region of Andalusia on the Canal Sur HD channel.

Axión is a pioneer in trials with 4K technology, also known as Ultra HD, capable of quadrupling the resolution offered by today’s high definition up to 3840×2160 pixels.

The combination of 4K HDR format and HLG technology made the already impressive Royal Horse-Drawn Carriage of Andalusia Exhibition even more spectacular with a depth of colours significantly higher than usual.

Axión, leader in Andalusia in innovation projects for DTT, partners with Canal Sur in various pilot initiatives to transmit ultra-high definition content.

Axión and Canal Sur started broadcasting 4k content on DVB-T2 in November 2016, coinciding with the last edition of the 4K-UHD Summit held in Seville. In 2017, they televised three documentaries with ultra-high definition quality (UHD-4K) on the El Rocío pilgrimage, Holy Week and carnival.
