As in 2019, Axión will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the public during the spring events taking place in the city of Seville.
Last Monday, Seville City Council approved the contract with Axión for the provision of operational services involving special security installations, to be used by the security service as set out in the specific coordination plans for Holy Week and the 2022 Seville Fair.
The service will consist of the hire and installation of high-performance security cameras, together with the telecommunications connectivity services required to implement the public safety measures approved by the Advisory Committee of the Municipal Emergency Plan and coordinated through the General Coordination Unit of the Department of Home Affairs, Major Festivals and the Metropolitan Area.
These cameras, together with Axión’s NagáN platform, will enable the detection of objects, the crossing of virtual lines by individuals or the intrusion into restricted areas, as well as counting people and/or vehicles, measuring the occupancy level of a given area and generating alerts if that occupancy level is exceeded by a certain percentage or if people are detected falling due to changes in conditions.
The system will feature fixed and mobile cameras, whose analytics will feed into the NagáN management platform. The platform is designed to generate real-time alerts and events, which can be monitored both from the control center and from the mobile devices used by security forces. This will enable authorities to anticipate situations that could pose a risk to people’s safety or to historical and cultural heritage.
This project will have a significant social impact in terms of safety, protection, and mobility for citizens. It is aligned with Axión’s ongoing development of IoT technology to support Smart City management, with the aim of increasing the efficiency and sustainability of the public services provided by these municipalities, while delivering corresponding benefits to citizens and tourists attending these events.
