Measures taken by Axión to ensure operational continuity through COVID-19

In view of the exceptional circumstances that are occurring in Spain due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19, in Axión we have implemented a series of operational measures to give continuity to our usual operations with our clients and, at the same time, to duly protect our employees and all our partners.

Therefore, Axión reports that the following operational measures have been put in place:

1. Centre of Operations (COR):

Regarding our Centre of Operation (COR), a series of measures have been adopted to maintain its full operability and to maximize the protection of its personnel from any contagion and, in case this eventuality should occur, to allow our service to continue in a normal way.  The following measures have been taken:

• Closure to all personnel outside the COR, except for cleaning and hygiene activities.
• 90% of COR staff are teleworking and physical access is being limited to no more than one person. All staff are equipped with office tools and access to corporate systems in a secure manner.
• Hygiene measures at the COR have been stepped up.
• Axión has a second contingency COR, whose facilities are operational and sanitized and prepared in case its use becomes necessary.

2. Maintenance Services:

With regard to maintenance services, the following additional operational measures have been adopted in addition to those proposed through the Prevention against COVID-19 protocols:

• Personnel with expertise in different technologies, such as Emergency Networks, Distributed Antenna System, Broadcast Networks, Co-location Infrastructure Management and Remote Management, IoT and Transport Services, are working remotely on the networks.

• All other field maintenance personnel –both preventive and corrective– are organized in such a way that a vehicle is predominantly used on an individual basis and with elements of personal cleanliness and hygiene. If two technicians are required to travel, they are either provided with a second vehicle or the strict provisions currently in force for travelling together are adopted.

All these measures are under constant review by the heads of our Technical and Operations Management, and with due advice from the ad-hoc Monitoring Committee, which is in contact to see how the situation is evolving and the measures taken by the authorities for any adaptation that may be necessary.

3. Corporate and Engineering Services:

As for our corporate services, communications, e-mail and corporate applications, these are all 100% operational. Staff assigned to these functions are also working remotely. As for the engineering staff, they continue to work remotely on current projects.

Axión staff who need to travel to the various telecommunications sites, or work centers, are certified, for the purposes of their movement on public roads to provide their professional services, under Article 7 c) of Royal Decree 463/2020 of 14 March, declaring the State of Alarm for the management of the health crisis situation.

We trust that, with these measures, we at Axión are contributing to maintaining the very critical activity of the telecommunications sector during the crisis in our country, hoping that it will pass as soon as possible.
