Axión awarded the contract of radiocommunications service for the Local Police and Civil Protection of Vélez-Málaga

The new radiocommunications network, with state-of-the-art digital technology, will allow access to important improvements in the coordination and control of operations for the benefit of citizens. Includes 123 personal laptops, 12 stations for vehicles, one base station in chief and 5 repeaters for different points of the municipality.

The City Council of Vélez-Málaga, Antonio Moreno Ferrer, with, Álvaro Abascal, head of Public Sector of Axión, presented yesterday the innovations and improvements that the new equipment supposes.

Moreno Ferrer emphasized that, from the current government team, “we work to ensure the continuity of municipal services, especially if we talk about supplies that involve an improvement for citizen security.”
“The new equipment will represent an important improvement in the network coverage in the municipality, not only in the urban center of Vélez-Málaga but also throughout the area of Torre del Mar, Caleta de Vélez, Mezquitilla and Lagos, as well as in the nuclei of Benajarafe, Cajíz and Los Puertas; guaranteeing improvements in security for each and every one of the territories of the municipality. ”

Álvaro Abascal explained that “the network represents a significant improvement in coverage in the municipality thanks to the implementation of radio repeater stations in different locations, connected to the Local Police Station of Vélez Málaga in the Plaza de San Roque, where it is located the coordination and control center. ”

The digital technology allows new data functionalities, efficient use of the radioelectric spectrum, dispatch systems for the better management of the Local Police and coordination of the operative, as well as improvements in the location and other advanced communication services for security bodies.

Axión will provide the integral service of maintenance of the whole system, putting at the disposal of the City Council its network operation center, with availability during the 24 hours and during all the days of the year, in order to guarantee the technical assistance and resolution of incidents and the repair of radio equipment.
