Asterion Industrial Partners Reaches Agreement to Sell Lineox, Leading Rural Backhaul Platform, to Telefónica

Asterion Industrial Partners has reached an agreement to sell Lineox, the leading rural backhaul platform, to Telefónica.

Lineox is part of the Axión telecommunications infrastructure services group and was developed by them.

In 2020, Asterion acquired Lineox and, in 2021, Axión, integrating both businesses operationally to offer high-quality telecommunications infrastructure services. Since then, one of the main rural microwave radio link networks in Spain has been built and operated, providing critical backhaul infrastructure for mobile connectivity, especially in rural and sparsely populated areas.

This transaction highlights Axión’s operational excellence and the value of a strategy focused on developing robust, efficient, and strategically relevant platforms for the telecommunications ecosystem in Spain. Ultimately, this is recognition of a job well done.
