After the launch and success of the Ciudad Jardin pilot project, the Balearic Government makes the Axi\u00f3n solution available to the four island Councils and the Balearic municipalities, in collaboration with the public business entity for telecommunications and innovation of the Balearic Islands , Ibetec, to maintain detailed and real-time monitoring of the occupation of the beaches.<\/p>\n
The system allows evaluating the density of people in a given space and its relationship with the recommended capacity. Thus, every two minutes, the state of occupation of the beaches is sent to the competent administration, which allows decisions to be made in real-time if the established capacity is exceeded. The information will also be accessible to the citizen through a public access web page.<\/p>\n
One of the great beach control challenges detected in the pilot test consisted of calibrating the sensors regarding the effects of shadows and perspective.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the analytics developed by Axi\u00f3n with edge computing, it has been possible to weight by areas, minimizing the problem of perspective, detecting changes in people (lying down, sitting, moving) as well as eliminating shadows.<\/p>\n

This has optimized the analytics integrated into the sensors themselves, obtaining, as a result, a precise system for the control of capacity on beaches.<\/p>\n
One of the great advantages of this system is that the installed sensors can be transmitted without internet coverage, and even without electrical connection thanks to solar panels that make them autonomous, in areas with limited infrastructures.<\/p>\n
With real-time analysis, count information is sent and informs whether the user has 8 square meters or more (optimal level), if the surface is between 4 and 8 square meters per person (high occupancy level, orange alert) or if the occupation is 4 square meters or less in which it is recommended not to go to the beach, in accordance with the regulations established by the Government of Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n
The result of the pilot has visual support through Axi\u00f3n’s Nag\u00e1N software platform with statistical and analytical capacity for occupancy data, including maximum, minimum and average capacity values, as well as the generation of alarms based on the established levels.<\/p>\n
Axi\u00f3n has carried out a specific development of the system with existing infrastructure and LoraWan communications in conjunction with Ibetec and the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), in addition to deploying both fixed and mobile intelligent optical sensors.<\/p>\n
It is also worth highlighting the guarantee of the privacy of the information collected by sensors, since it is transmitted through the Iotib network, including only numerical data and in no case images of the analyzed space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
