{"id":23123,"date":"2022-02-21T15:28:34","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T15:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.axion.es\/?p=23123"},"modified":"2026-10-02T10:41:32","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T10:41:32","slug":"araceli-garcia-cuartango-new-chief-executive-of-axion-and-lineox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.axion.es\/en\/araceli-garcia-cuartango-new-chief-executive-of-axion-and-lineox\/","title":{"rendered":"Araceli Garc\u00eda Cuartango, new chief executive of Axi\u00f3n and Lineox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jorge Alberto Jim\u00e9nez hands over the reins at Axi\u00f3n to Araceli Garc\u00eda Cuartango, who will become CEO of both Axi\u00f3n and Lineox, the latter of which also belongs to the investment group Asterion Industrial Partners (AIP).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From this month, <strong>Jorge Alberto Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> is handing over the reins of the chief executive role at <strong>Axi\u00f3n<\/strong> to <strong>Araceli Garc\u00eda Cuartango<\/strong>, a telecommunications engineer with extensive experience in senior management positions within the sector.\u00a0 Garc\u00eda Cuartango will also serve as CEO of<strong> Lineox<\/strong>, with <strong>Javier Dorado Lobera<\/strong> as its managing director.<\/p>\n<p>This appointment will enable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axion.es\/\">Axi\u00f3n<\/a> and Lineox to provide an integrated offering to customers, jointly developing new business, improving economies of scale and strengthening their position to capitalise more efficiently on the growth opportunities offered by the dynamic Spanish telecommunications market. In turn, it will enable the group to maintain and strengthen what has long been one of its hallmarks: its commitment to ESG policies and initiatives, leading Axi\u00f3n and Lineox to remain leaders in ESG management within the sector and to generate a sustainable and positive social and environmental impact for society as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Jorge Alberto Jim\u00e9nez has led the Axi\u00f3n Group for the past 20 years, driving the development and transformation that have made it a benchmark in the sector.\u00a0 In addition to the company\u2019s successful track record since 1999 in its now-established business lines of radio and television signal transmission, Axi\u00f3n has been incorporating new developments such as the deployment and operation of emergency networks (\u2018blue light services\u2019), as well as the provision of IoT services.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jorge-Alberto-Jim\u00e9nez-P\u00e9rez-Axi\u00f3n.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13233\" src=\"https:\/\/www.axion.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Jorge-Alberto-Jim\u00e9nez-P\u00e9rez-Axi\u00f3n.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"494\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since 2018, Axi\u00f3n has also expanded into wholesale fibre-optic signal transmission through <a href=\"https:\/\/axent.es\/\">Axent<\/a>, a joint venture with Enag\u00e1s.\u00a0 Also in this recent period, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iberiasmallcellsnetworks.es\/\">Iberia Small Cells Networks (ISC)<\/a> was launched \u2013 a partnership between Axi\u00f3n and the British Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG) to provide coverage solutions for environments with extremely high density. Jorge Alberto Jim\u00e9nez will remain associated with the Axi\u00f3n Group, providing consultancy in various areas.<\/p>\n<p>Since the start of 2021, Lineox, which owns a portfolio of 11,000 radio links across Spain, had already begun an intensive process of synergies and collaboration between the two companies alongside Axi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Araceli Garc\u00eda Cuartango<\/strong> holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She has extensive experience in technology management and transformation projects, with over 25 years\u2019 experience in executive roles at multinationals such as Vodafone, Telef\u00f3nica and IAG.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the new professional chapter he is now embarking upon, Jorge Alberto Jim\u00e9nez said:<em> \u201cThese 20 years at the helm of Axi\u00f3n have been, on a personal level, a fantastic adventure, during which I have been fortunate to have the best team: capable, highly dedicated and always motivated (\u2026). This has enabled us to build the great company that today makes up the Axi\u00f3n Group.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For her part, Araceli Garc\u00eda Cuartango commented: <em>\u201cI am delighted to be returning to the telecoms sector, a broad and dynamic technology-driven industry with significant market opportunities. It is a privilege to take over from Jorge Alberto, who is handing over a well-managed and agile company with a highly professional team.
