As part of the collaboration agreement between Axi\u00f3n and the IE School of Science and Technology, and as part of the sponsorship of master\u2019s thesis projects, on February 3, 2023, Axi\u00f3n welcomed students from the Master\u2019s in Big Data (MBD) program to its Madrid\u2013Pozuelo facility.<\/p>\n
During the visit, they were accompanied by Axi\u00f3n staff members: Fernando Blanco (Production Expert), Amelia Acosta (Infrastructure Project Manager), and Juan Rubio (Director of Radio Links), who explained how a broadcasting and telecommunications center\u2014the backbone of today\u2019s communications networks\u2014functions and is operated.<\/p>\n
Both the broadcasting of audiovisual signals\u2014radio and television\u2014and the transmission of telephone signals require the necessary infrastructure to ensure service continuity.<\/p>\n
Axi\u00f3n, as an infrastructure operator, demonstrated the resources it has in place to make this possible. These range from the use of a generator set\u2014which ensures the power supply essential for equipment operation\u2014to the ability to receive direct current via rectifiers, with batteries available to compensate for any minor power interruptions that may occur.<\/p>\n
In equipment rooms and shelters, ventilation and cooling systems are in place to ensure proper climate control, which is essential for the correct operation of transmission equipment.<\/p>\n
Both towers and masts are equipped with safety systems and comply with current regulations, ensuring that they are properly maintained and suitable for the installation and operation of equipment.<\/p>\n
At Axi\u00f3n, we are delighted to be able to demonstrate, in a real-world setting, how the knowledge acquired in these subjects comes together in a professional environment.
